Suigetsu 水月

Suigetsu position on the drawing by Hatsumi. Red added for clarity.

“Moon on water”

[Kyūsho point]

Hatsumi, TCJ (1983)

獅子乱。

Shi shi ran.

Translation: “lion riot”, [another name of Suigetsu].

On the image in the book by Hatsumi, the point is written as “水日“, “sun on the water“, evidently a typo.

Tips from the Masters

Kühn: also Rikimon, slightly below the solar plexus.

Momot: diaphragm, below the ribs on the chest line. The light blow into this diaphragm region provokes muscle and diaphragm contraction, and breathing difficulties. Strong blow can provoke lungs contractions and possibly cardiac arrest.
